Sincona sale 35, lot 5331

This specimen was lot 5331 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$238 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Solothurn, 10 Batzen 1778. Fast vorzüglich. (canton of Solothurn, ten batzen of 1778. About extremely fine.)"

This type was issued issued 1773, 1778 and 1785 and is fairly expensive. The monetary system was 4 pfennig = one kreuzer, 4 kreuzer = one batzen, 10 batzen = one franken.

Specification: 7.86 g, silver, 30 mm diameter, this specimen 7.95 g.
