Steve Album sale 54, lot 3684

This specimen was lot 3684 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $70. The catalog description[1] noted, "SINGAPORE: Republic, AR 10 dollars, 1982, Year of the Dog, a spectacular example, PCGS graded PF68 Deep Cameo." Singapore, today an independent city-state, was until 1948 part of the British colony of the Straits Settlements. It left the Federation of Malaysia in 1965 and commenced coinage in 1967. This issue is one of an extensive series of Chinese zodiac themed NCLT's. The gold issues are denominated 500 dollars.

Recorded mintage: 210,000 in nickel plus 20,000 proofs in silver.

Specification: 28 g, nickel, 40.7 mm diameter, reeded edge. The proofs are 31.1 g, 0.500 fine silver.
