This type was struck 1967-85 and is common. Most dates had silver proofs struck for collectors, including the 1981. In 1985, the denomination was converted to aluminum bronze. As of August 2019, US$1 = SGD $1.39.

Recorded mintage: 58,600,000 plus 30,000 silver proofs.

Specification: 2.85 g, copper-nickel, 19.4 mm diameter.
