This specimen was lot 73477 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "SEYCHELLES. 5 Cents, 1982. Kings Norton Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-68 Gold Shield. The first year of issue, this dazzling example stands alone at the top of the PCGS census, unrivaled by its lofty, impressive grade. Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." Seychelles, an island group in the Indian Ocean, is better known for its export of cinnamon, copra and vanilla. This one year type is common. A similar design, with a revised coat of arms, was struck 1990, 1992, 1995, 1997, 2000.
