This specimen was lot 37405 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 12 Shillings, ND (1603-25). Edinburgh Mint. James VI. PCGS VF-25. Ninth Coinage. From the Richard August Collection." The twelve shillings Scots was equal to an English shilling. Two types exist for James VI; this one, with the Scottish arms in the second quarter, and KM 8, with the Scottish arms in the first quarter.
