Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt ("S.R.") in 1789

This specimen was lot 73345 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. 1/2 Taler, 1764-ICE. Saalfeld Mint. Johann Friedrich. PCGS AU-53. A delightful one-year type, this example displays some light wear across the high points and a bit of a mottled tone that is mostly composed of gunmetal gray and olive. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This one year type is somewhat scarce. The duke also issued a 1/24 thaler, 1/12 thaler, 1/6 thaler and thaler in 1764.
