Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt 1791-ICK 1/2 thaler
This specimen was lot 2168 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 525 CHF (about US$627 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Fürstentum, Friedrich Karl, 1790-1793 1/2 Konventionstaler 1791. Saalfeld. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. FDC. Uncirculated. Minimal justiert. NGC MS64. (Germany, principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Frederick Charles, 1790-93, half convention thaler of 1791, Saalfeld mint. Cabinet piece, Slightly adjusted.)"
This is the second of two half thalers issued by this fragment of the Saxon duchies in the eighteenth century. It accompanied a thaler (Dav-2772). The line survived until World War One.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
