Saxony 1857 F 2 thaler

This double thaler was struck in the kingdom of Saxony 1857-59. Most double thalers are rare but this type is fairly common, coming from a silver-producing state. Johann was king of Saxony 1854-1873. Saxon coinage, after a thousand years of minting, ceased in 1918 with the collapse of the second Reich.
