Künker sale 335, lot 4314

This specimen was lot 4314 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €440 (about US$576 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, SACHSEN, KÖNIGREICH. Johann, 1854-1873. 1/3 Taler 1856, F. Herrliche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Saxony, John, 1854-73, one-third thaler of 1856. Beautiful patina, extremely fine to uncirculated..)"

This one-third thaler or half gulden seems to be a one year type.

Recorded mintage: 308,000.

Specification: 8.35 g, 0.667 fine silver, this specimen 8.42 g.
