Stack's Bowers 2025 ANA sale, lot 46774

This specimen was lot 46774 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. Taler, 1843-G. Dresden Mint. Friedrich August II. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details." This type was struck 1839-49 to the Prussian standard. Soon after, the "vereinsthaler" standard (18.52 g, 0.900 fine silver) was adopted and used until unification in 1871.

Recorded mintage: 1,250,548.

Specifications: 22.27 g, 0.750 fine silver, 34 mm diameter, lettered edge.
