Sincona sale 11, lot 989

This specimen was lot 989 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen, Königreich Albertiner Anton, 1827-1836. Konventionstaler 1830. Mmz. S. Gutes sehr schön. (kingdom of Saxony, Anton, 1827-36, convention thaler of 1830, mintmaster 'S'. Good very fine.)"

Four different thalers were issued in Saxony in 1830, of which this is the most common. This type was issued 1829-36.

Recorded mintage: 620,000.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 27.89 g.
