Sincona sale 33, lot 2405

This specimen was lot 2405 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$178 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Sachsen, ab 1806 Königreich | Albertiner. Anton, 1827-1836 Konventionstaler 1829. Dresden. Vorzüglich-gutes vorzüglich. Kleine Kratzer. (kingdom of Saxony, Anthony, 1827-36, convention thaler of 1829, Dresden mint. Extremely fine-good extremely fine, Minor scratches.)"

Three thalers were issued in Saxony in 1829, of which this is the most common. This type was issued 1829-36.

Recorded mintage: 534,000.
