This specimen was lot 960 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXONY: Friedrich August I, 1806-1827, BI 1/12 thaler, Dresden, 1818, initials IGS, exquisite light toning over nice luster, PCGS graded MS64." This is the final date of a type struck in substantial numbers 1806-18. The 1812 is the most common date. The king also struck 1/24, 1/6, 1/3 and single thalers in 1818.
