This specimen was lot 2113 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €16,000 (about US$22,267 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Friedrich Christian, 1763. Dukat 1763, Dresden. Geharnischtes Brustbild r.//Gekröntes, neunfeldiges Wappen, darunter Signatur F. W. ô F. (Friedrich Wilhelm ô Feral, Münzmeister in Dresden 1735-1763). GOLD. RR Vorzüglich/vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Christian, 1763, ducat of 1763, Dresden mint. Obverse: armored bust right; reverse: crowned ninefold arms, mintmaster's initials (Frederick William O'Farrell) below. Very rare, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
Friedrich Christian died of smallpox in December 1763 at the age of 41 after ruling as elector for only three months.
