Steve Album Auction 54, lot 2569

This specimen was lot 2569 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $115. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXONY: Augustus III, 1734-1763, AR 1/24 thaler, Dresden, 1756, mintmaster initials FWoF, a wonderful lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS64." This type was struck 1734-60. It was worth one groschen and may have circulated in Poland. Other Saxon groschen of 1756 included KM 930 (mintmaster IDB), struck by the Prussian army in Dresden, and KM A928 (mintmaster EDC).
