SB526-74632r.jpg

This specimen was lot 74632 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $854. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. 2/3 Taler, 1736-FWoF. Friedrich August II. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. From the Collection of Kazmier Wysocki, former mayor of Hackensack, New Jersey." This type was struck 1734-62 and is quite a bit more available than the contemporary thalers (Dav-2665). The SCWC states the weight should be 19.2 g, which is wrong. By this time, the gulden or two-thirds thaler weighed only half a thaler.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.8 g, silver.

Catalog reference: KM-879, Dav-830.
