This specimen was lot 55802 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. 1/3 Taler, 1717-IGS. Dresden Mint. Friedrich August I. PCGS VF-35. From the Augustana Collection." This issue commemorated the death of the elector's mother. It accompanied a gulden (KM 826) and a thaler (Dav-2658). The regular issue half gulden (KM 792.2) was struck 1717-33.
