Saxony 1709-ILH 2/3 thaler KM-768
This specimen was lot 1363 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen, Herzogtum, ab 1547 Kurfürstentum, ab 1806 Königreich, Friedrich August I. 1694-1733. 2/3 Taler 1709, Dresden. Sehr selten. Vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. Kleiner Kratzer. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus I, 1694-1733, two-thirds thaler of 1709, Dresden mint. Very rare, Extremely Fine, Attractively toned, Small scratch.)"
1708-10. Another gulden (KM 775) struck in 1709 had the elector's arms on the reverse. By this time, the gulden had slipped from two-thirds to half a thaler tho still marked "⅔".
