Saxony 1662-CR 2 thaler Dav-7616
This specimen was lot 4439 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €5,000 (about US$6,879 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Johann Georg II., 1656-1680. Dicker doppelter Reichstaler 1662, Dresden. Erbländischer Doppeltaler. Von größter Seltenheit. Kl. Druckstellen im Feld der Vorderseite, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 8, Dortmund 1997, Nr. 1460. (electorate of Saxony, John George II, 1656-80, "hereditary" double thaler of 1662, Dresden mint. Extremely rare, small punch mark in the obverse field, very fine.)"
