This specimen was lot 74626 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $195.20. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony. 1/8 Taler, 1639-SD. Dresden Mint. Johann Georg I. PCGS AU-55." This denomination was only sporadically issued in Germany and usually used for commemoratives. This one was struck 1624-56 and is fairly common tho less so than the thaler.
