This specimen was lot 1361 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$725 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen, Herzogtum, ab 1547 Kurfürstentum, ab 1806 Königreich, Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. 1/2 Taler 1629, Dresden. Münzmeister Hans Jacobs. Vorzüglich-FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung mit herrlicher Patina. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George I, 1615-56, half thaler of 1629, Dresden mint. About Uncirculated, Beautiful condition with magnificent patina.)"
This type was struck 1624-29 and is likely scarcer than the matching thaler.
