This specimen was lot 30502 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. Taler, 1866-A. NGC MS-62. Toned." This type was issued 1858, 1866 and 1870 and is the last thaler from this locale. Double thalers (Dav-846) also exist. A few coins exist from the Second Empire (1871-1918) but are rare.
