This specimen was lot 2944 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Saxe-Altenburg. Taler, 1625-WA. Four sons of Friedrich Wilhelm I of Weimar, 1602-1625." This state was created in 1602 from Saxe-Weimar for Johann II and survived until the death of Frederick William III in 1672, when it was claimed by Saxe-Gotha. The SCWC lists many different thalers for Saxe-Altenburg, including Dav-7369, Dav-7371, Dav-7371A, Dav-7373 and Dav-7374 for 1625 alone.
