This specimen was lot 75478 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, " SAUDI ARABIA. 4 Qirsh, AH 1378 (1959). Lahore Mint. Sa'ud bin 'Abd al-'Aziz. NGC MS-63. Rather lustrous and radiant, this specimen glistens with a delightful olive-gray hue." This type, accompanied by a two ghirsh (KM 41) and a one ghirsh (KM 40), was struck previously in AH 1376. In 1963, the coinage was reformed so that 100 halala = one riyal and the ghirsh was dropped.
