Sincona sale 77, lot 2999

This specimen was lot 2999 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$395 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA | Salzburg, Erzbistum. Hieronymus von Colloredo, 1772-1803. 1/2 Taler 1787, Salzburg. Zöttl 3256. NGC MS63. Herrliche Patina. (archbishopric of Salzburg, Hieronymus von Colloredo, 1772-1803, half thaler of 1787, Salzburg mint. Most attractively toned.)"

This type was struck 1787, 1792 and 1797 and is the most common half thaler of the second half of the eighteenth century for this state.
