Russia 1881-SP NF 25 kopeks
This specimen was lot 315 in Sincona Auction 99 (Zürich, October 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Alexander II. 1855-1881, 25 Kopecks 1881, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB NF. Sehr selten. (empire of Russia, Alexander II, 1855-81, twenty-five kopeks of 1881, St. Petersburg mint. Very rare. 2 roubles according to Petrov. PCGS AU58.)"
This type was struck 1859-85 at St. Petersburg. Most dates have small mintages but 1877 and 1878 are common. Assayer's initials HΦ = Nicolai Follendorf, who operated 1877-82.
Recorded mintage: 2,007, a very scarce date.
Specification: 5.18 g, 0.868 fine silver, 24.2 mm diameter, this specimen 10.32 g.
