This specimen was lot 22945 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $152.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Kopek, 1881-CNB. NGC MS-63 BN. Final year for the type. Population of two with three finer at NGC. Even smooth milk chocolate tone with a touch of blue sheen." This copper five kopeks was produced at the St. Petersburg mint 1867-71, 1876-81, 1911-12 and was the final type of copper five kopeks until 1916 (KM Y12.3). St. Petersburg also issued silver five kopeks 1810-1915.

Recorded mintage: 13,824,000.
