Russia 1864-SP NF poltina
This specimen was lot 265 in Sincona Auction 99 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$528 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Alexander II. 1855-1881, Poltina 1864, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB NF. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Feine Patina. Randfehler. (empire of Russia, Alexander II, 1855-81, poltina of 1864, St. Petersburg mint. Rare. 3 roubles according to Petrov, Good Very Fine, Nicely toned, Edge flaws.)"
Altho struck in much smaller numbers than the contemporary ruble, this type struck 1859-85 has a lower catalog value. In 1886 the poltina was superseded by a fifty kopek piece weighing 10 g, 0.900 fine.
