This specimen was lot 75641 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopeks, 1838-EM HA. Ekaterinburg Mint. Nicholas I. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, VF Details." This copper type was struck 1833-39 simultaneously with a silver coin of the same value (KM C164.1) issued from St. Petersburg. The regime would vacillate between copper and silver grivenniks for the rest of the nineteenth century.
