This specimen was lot 357 in Sincona sale 78 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 60 CHF (about US$72 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Catherine II. 1762-1796, 5 Kopecks 1796, Anninskoye Mint, AM. 0.5 rouble according to Petrov. Extremely fine." This type was struck in large quantities at several mints throughout the reign of Catherine the Great. The Anninskoye mint participated 1789-96. The SCWC notes that a few are know struck over the aborted ten kopeks of 1796.
