Russia 1777-KM 10 kopeks
This specimen was lot 1836 in Jean Elsen sale 112 (Brussels, March 2012) where it sold for €240 (about US$375 including buyer's fee). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIE, SIBERIE, Catherine II (1762-1796), Cu 10 kopecks, 1777 KM, Suzun (Kolyvan). Droit: Monogramme couronné, entre deux rameaux. Revers: Ecu couronné, tenu par deux zibelines. Très Beau (Russia, Siberia, Catherine II, 1762-96, copper ten kopeks of 1777, Suzun mint. Obverse: crowned monogram between two branches; reverse: crowned arms supported by two martens. Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1766-81 for circulation in Siberia. Many survive today but few in choice condition.
