This specimen was lot 21313 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopeks, 1778-CNB. St. Petersburg Mint. Catherine II. NGC MS-63. Intricately detailed with minimal signs of handing and stunning brilliance that illuminates the fields. A RARE coin in this phenomenal condition and presently the single finest example of the date certified by either NGC or PCGS. Ex: D. Moore Collection." This type was struck 1777-82.

Recorded mintage: 540,000.
