Russia 1724 kopek
The first specimen was lot 22165 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Kopek, 1724. Moscow (Kadashevsky) Mint. Peter I (the Great). NGC AU-53. A charming one-year type with only a light degree of wear, this example presents a somewhat mottled dark brown nature with a slightly uneven strike, but nevertheless tremendous quality and originality for the type. As such, a premium-quality survivor." This one year type is listed in the SCWC as quite rare. Novodels exist.
