Russia (1718) poltina
The first specimen was lot 26 in Sincona sale 65 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$987 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Poltina 1718, Kadashevsky Mint, OK L. 5 roubles according to Petrov. Flan flaws. Very fine-extremely fine. (Полтина 1718. Кадашевский МД, ОК L. 13,54 г. Биткин 605 (R). Дьяков 37. 5 рублей по Петрову. Дефект диска. Состояние очень хорошее - отличное.)"
The second specimen was lot 6081 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,113 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"RUSSLAND, KAISERREICH, Peter I. der Große, 1682-1725. 1/2 Rubel (Poltina) 1718 (kyrillisch), Moskau, Roter Münzhof. RR Sehr schön. (empire of Russia, Peter the Great, 1682-1725, half ruble (poltina) of 1718, Cyrillic date, Moscow "Red" mint. Very rare, very fine.)"
The date is shown in Cyrillic letters on this type struck 1718-22. Tho more available than later types of Peter the Great and Catherine I, it is still expensive.
