Sincona sale 12, lot 66

This specimen was lot 66 in Sincona sale 12 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,811 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Altyn 1718, Red Mint. Rare. Most attractive piece with original luster, good extremely fine. Obv. 93.28 in GM. Rev. Not in GM." This denomination was struck irregularly 1704-18 and then no more were made until 1840. This billon piece is rare.
