This specimen was lot 1706 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,759 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUMÄNIEN, Carol I. 1866-1914. 50 Lei 1906, Brüssel. Zum 40. Regierungsjubiläum. Nur 28'000 Exemplare geprägt. PCGS MS61. (kingdom of Romania, Charles I, 1866-1914, fifty lei of 1906, Brussels mint, on his 40th year of reign. Only 28'000 pieces struck.)"
A series of commemoratives was released on this occasion, ranging from five to one hundred lei. The next issue of this denomination was in 1937 and the coin was nickel.
