Künker sale 405, lot 3131

This specimen was lot 3131 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €650 (about US$853 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND III. 1/4 Reichstaler 1638, mit Titel Ferdinands III. Münzmeister Hans Putzer. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön. (city of Regensburg, quarter thaler of 1638, struck in the name of Ferdinand III. Extremely rare, handsome patina, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1638, 1641-42 and 1645-46. It was 22½ kreuzer or three-eighths of a gulden.
