Regensburg 1629 1/9 thaler
This specimen was lot 3098 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €440 (about US$577 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND II., 1619-1637. Kurant- und Scheidemünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Ferdinand II. Nach Überwindung der Kipperkrise 1623. 1/9 Reichstaler 1629, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Münzmeister Balthasar Ziegler. Von allergrößter Seltenheit. Unregelmäßiger Schrötling (Henkelspur?), sehr schön. (city of Regensburg, local coinage from the time of emperor Ferdinand II, after the kipper crisis of 1623. One-ninth thaler of 1629, in the name of Ferdinand II. Extremely rare, irregular planchet (mount mark?), very fine.)"
