Regensburg 1629 1/2 thaler KM-63
This specimen was lot 3094 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,575 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND II., 1619-1637. Kurant- und Scheidemünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Ferdinand II. Nach Überwindung der Kipperkrise 1623. ½ Reichstaler 1629, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Münzmeister Balthasar Ziegler. Von größter Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, Felder min. geglättet, sehr schön +. (city of Regensburg, local coinage from the time of emperor Ferdinand II, after the kipper crisis of 1623, half thaler of 1629, in the name of Ferdinand II. Extremely rare, handsome patina, some smoothing in the fields, very fine or better.)"
Another half thaler of 1629 (KM 62) has oval arms with no point at the bottom.
