Künker sale 405, lot 3096

This specimen was lot 3096 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €750 (about US$984 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FERDINAND II., 1619-1637. Kurant- und Scheidemünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Ferdinand II. Nach Überwindung der Kipperkrise 1623. 1/6 Reichstaler 1627, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Münzmeister Balthasar Ziegler. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön. (city of Regensburg, local coinage from the time of emperor Ferdinand II, after the kipper crisis of 1623. One-sixth thaler of 1627, in the name of Ferdinand II. Extremely rare, handsome patina, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1627-28. Another fifteen kreuzer of 1627 (KM 48) has the value on the angel side.
