Künker sale 353, lot 3493

This specimen was lot 3493 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €460 (about US$640 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Reichstaler preuß. 1772, B, Breslau. Berliner Typ. Auf der rechten Seite der Waffengruppe 6 Spitzen. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, thaler of 1772, Breslau mint, Berlin type. The weapons group on the right has six points. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This product of the Breslau mint in Silesia is fairly common but scarcer than the Berlin mint product. It was struck 1764-72.

Specification: 22.27 g, 0.750 fine silver, this specimen is 22,15 g.
