Künker sale 353, part of lot 3497

This specimen was part of lot 3497 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), which sold for €130 (about US$181 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/3 Reichstaler preuß. a) 1/3 Reichstaler preuß. 1770 B, Breslau. Exemplar der Auktion Kurpfälzische Münzhandlung 33, Mannheim 1987, Nr. 553 (Lot). ...2 Stück., Sehr schön und sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one third thaler of 1770, Breslau mint. [One of] two pieces, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-74 at Berlin, Breslau, Konigsberg and Magdeburg, this is a common date. One third thaler was half a gulden.
