This specimen was lot 3534 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,050 (about US$1,415 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/2 Friedrichs d'or 1770, A, Berlin. GOLD. R Sehr schön. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, half frederick d'or of 1770, Berlin mint. Scarce, very fine.)"
This type was struck at Berlin 1765, 1769-74 and is priced higher than the Breslau mint issue (Fr-2409).
