Prussia 1748-EGN ducat Fr-2370
This specimen was lot 3530 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €4,600 (about US$6,200 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Dukat 1748, EGN, Berlin. Mit glattem Harnisch. GOLD. RR Hübsche Goldpatina, winz. Kratzer, vorzüglich +. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, ducat of 1748, Berlin mint, with smooth armor. Rare, hadsome gold patina, minor scratches, extremely fine or better.)"
This type of 1745-49 was the last ducat issued in Prussia until a small issue in 1787.
