Sincona sale 6, lot 591

This specimen was lot 591 in Sincona sale 6 (Zürich, May 2012), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,692 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Brandenburg-Preussen, 1701 Königreich. Münzstätte Berlin. Friedrich Wilhelm, 1713-1740. Dukat 1739. Geharnischte Büste rechts. Rv. Gekrönter Ordensstern über EGN und Jahreszahl. Etwas gewellt. Gutes sehr schön. (Brandenburg-Prussia, Frederick William (1713-40), ducat of 1739. Obverse: armored bust to right; reverse: crowned order of the star over date and engraver's initials. Somewhat wavy, good very fine.)"

This type is listed for 1733-40. No ducats were struck in Prussia after 1790.
