Künker sale 353, lot 3295

This specimen was lot 3295 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €100 (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm I. der Soldatenkönig, 1713-1740. 1/48 Taler 1734, EGN, Berlin. Münzmeister Ernst Georg Neubauer. Feine Tönung, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William I, the Soldier King, 1713-40, 1/48 thaler of 1734, Berlin. Fine toning, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

If the reported mintage in the SCWC is correct, this must be one of the most common Prussian coins of the reign.

Recorded mintage: 24,000,000 for 1731-34.

Specification: 1.43 g, 0.219 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, this specimen 1.30 g.
