The first specimen was lot 31525 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic aluminum-bronze 50 Centavos 1924 MS66 NGC. The first date in the series with cheerful golden-brown surfaces and incredible definition. Currently the finest-known graded example of this very scarce date." This type was struck 1924-26; the 1924 is scarce and the 1926 is common. The same design was used on the one escudo (KM 576) of 1924-26.
Recorded mintage: 810,000, a scarce date.
