This type was struck in Lisbon 1865-80, 1886-88 and is one of the more common of Portuguese silver coins. Silver hundred and five hundred réis bearing this portrait also exist along with a series of gold issues. This is an uncommon date.

Specification: 5 g, 0.917 fine silver, .147 troy oz ASW, 24 mm diameter.
