This specimen was lot 21337 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 200 Reis, 1836. PCGS VF-30 Secure Holder. Silver, reeded edge. RARE. The only example of the date seen at PCGS. Even wear and color; fully without problems. For those seeking to acquire a date set, a must have coin. Toned." This type was struck 1836-43 during the reign of queen Maria II (1834-53). The 1836 is the rare date issued during the transition to decimal coinage. Other denominations included the 100 réis (KM 473), 500 réis (KM 471 starting 1837) and 1000 réis (KM 472 starting 1837).
