This specimen was lot 40013 in Stack's Bowers Summer 2026 Global Showcase Auction (Pittsburgh, August 2026), where it sold for $701.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 10 Reis, 1829. Lisbon Mint. Miguel I. PCGS MS-64 Brown. A lovely near-Gem, with pleasing retained brown color and sharp details." This type (half a vintém) was struck 1829, 1831 and 1833 by the usurper Michael I. Common in low grade, it is scarce in nice condition. Decimal coinage was introduced in 1837.
